Intended as revitalisation of the city’s cultural institutions after the lockdown, the postponed ART CITY could take place from May 7th to 9th in Bologna. Traditionally the ART CITY is the accompanying programme for the city’s art fair in January. Due to the pandemic, it was cancelled. Fortunately, it could be carried out now. Including a special project, the main programme, many institutional, gallery and exhibition space initiatives, there were altogether 65 events allocated in different places in Bologna. Many of the exhibitions are still on view, since this years’ ART CITY is part of the cultural summer offer Bologna Estate. Here some impressions of 18 shows we visited up to now.
The proposals are sorted by the end date of the exhibitions with the earliest closings first. Alas, there are two venues already past at the end of the list. However, others will be open until July. In case, you have the possibility to a personal visit, it is recommended to book your visit via telephone for sanitary reasons. In most private galleries, it is possible to agree upon reservations outside the normal business hours.
